Job Overview
We are looking for a
Cloud Ops SRE to join our international shared services team. Working in the Cloud Operations team you will automate, configure, and deploy the company’s cloud-based SaaS infrastructure, ensuring the business operates efficiently and effectively. Your role will be to design, deploy and administer the customer facing SaaS cloud platforms and deliver the best customer experience based on high availability and performance. You will have to assist with technical leadership, to ensure that we are progressing in our Forterro Cloud journey and to minimize the downtime.
Key areas of responsibility:
- Installing, configuring and automating the applications, servers, infrastructure and network systems to meet the IT requirements of the business
- Configure monitoring platforms and availability metrics to ensure maximum operating efficiency for the business
- Troubleshoot system and network problems, diagnosing and solving faults in order to restore full system availability as quickly as possible
- Efficient work prioritization, to ensure issues are resolved with the minimal amount of impact to business-critical systems
- Establishing and maintaining a good working relationship with all stakeholders (e.g., co-workers, clients, third party vendors), ensuring that we utilize their and our time in the most efficient way, keeping external costs to a minimum
- Test and evaluate new technology and products, producing evaluation reports
- Ensure the Security Posture of the Infrastructure and maintain compliance within company standards
- Own the AWS Platform, helping align and define new processes for SaaS delivery
- Champion best practice and work with professional services and development teams to provision customer application deployments and services to the SaaS platform
- Work and communicate with your team to ensure cost analysis and cost optimization whenever possible
- Update internal administration systems, technical documentation, system diagrams and helpful guidelines, so that all members of the team can support and administer the systems.
- Assist the cloud practice by proposing solutions to key objectives, including relevant business cases
- Take part in a team on-call rotation (Rota) to provide out-of-work-hours cover for critical events
Requirements:
- Experience in Cloud DevOps or as an AWS Engineer: 2+ years
- Experience with best-in-class system monitoring – Grafana: 1+years
- Ability to meet and work in accordance with SLI/SLO
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines
- Scripting and Automations – Crossplane, Ansible, Python, YAML, Powershell
- Familiarity with PaaS (Containers, Kubernetes, ect.) and Administration
- Familiarity with back-up solutions (Veeam, Kasten, Velero)
- The ability to spot sensible, effective, least risky, least complex solutions
- Excellent attention to detail and data management skills
- Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Knowledge or Experience with Agile methodologies
- Experience with Cloud FinOps solutions is considered a valuable addition
- Experience working in multinational environment
- Ability to work both independently and in a team
- Ability to work under pressure and manage tight deadlines.
