IT Project Coordinator/ Manager
Position Summary
The IT Project Coordinator/ Manager will be responsible for planning, executing, and delivering software projects that meet our US client’s needs. You will coordinate closely with a dedicated team in Bulgaria, ensuring that all tasks align with both agile methodologies and the client’s expectations. This role requires previous experience working with US customers, excellent communication skills, and strong organizational expertise.
Key Responsibilities
• Project Leadership: Own the full project lifecycle: from scoping and planning to execution and closure. Collaborate with a company partner who maintains ultimate project authority and accountability.
• Team Coordination: Oversee, mentor, and coordinate Sofia-based development team. Foster a high-performance culture, encouraging open communication and collaborative problem-solving.
• Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary liaison with the US-based client, maintaining clear and proactive communication.
• Agile Project Management: Implement and guide the team in agile methodologies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives. Monitor sprint progress, remove blockers, and ensure continuous improvement within the team.
• Budget & Resource Management: Define project scope, allocate resources effectively, and manage budgets to meet financial objectives. Report regularly to the company partner regarding project financials and resource allocation.
• Risk Management & Compliance: Identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks to avoid project delays or scope creep. Ensure deliverables meet any relevant compliance protocols or industry regulations.
• Technical Oversight: Leverage your technical background to guide discussions, troubleshoot issues, and ensure best practices are followed.
• Reporting & Documentation: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including status reports, timelines, and risk analyses. Present regular updates to both the client and internal leadership (particularly the partner overseeing the project).
Qualifications & Skills
• Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience as a Project Coordinator/ Manager in software development environments. Proven track record of working with US customers and managing cross-border teams or stakeholders.
• Agile Methodologies: Practical knowledge and hands-on experience with Agile/Scrum frameworks.
• Technical Background: Understanding software development processes, architecture, and tools. Technical certifications are a plus.
• Financial Sector Experience: Experience in financial or fintech projects is highly desirable.
• Compliance Familiarity: Understanding compliance protocols (e.g., data protection, financial regulations) is a plus.
• Communication: Excellent English skills, especially for interfacing with US stakeholders. Prior experience living in the US or extensive collaboration with US teams is an advantage.
• Leadership & Organization: Strong leadership qualities, capable of motivating teams and driving organizational efficiency.
• Certifications: PMP, Scrum Master, or other relevant project management certifications are beneficial.
• On-Site Requirement: Must be able to work on-site in our Sofia, Bulgaria office.
