Head of IT - CONFIDENТIAL

The Head of IT is responsible for leading the technology strategy, ensuring IT operations align with business goals, and maintaining system security and efficiency.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

IT Operations (Strategy and Governance)
  • Develop and execute the IT strategy in alignment with the company’s objectives.
  • Manage the team in maintaining and improving the company IT infrastructure (including networking, firewalls, Windows Servers, Active Directory, cloud and on-premises solutions).
  • Managing the team towards resolving complex IT issues, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption to business operations.
  • Ensure the security, reliability, and scalability of IT systems to support the company operations, with a focus on compliance with industry and regulatory standards and best practices.
  • Establish IT policies, procedures.
  • Manage the IT budget.
  • Oversee IT service management, ensuring minimal downtime and efficient incident resolution.
  • Continuously assess and optimize IT processes, ensuring they scale effectively with the growth of the business.
  • Keep abreast of the latest IT technology trends, especially in networking, firewall management, and cloud services, and suggest enhancements to current systems.
  • Apply IT best practices throughout the organization, ensuring adherence to security policies and regulatory standards.
  • In cooperation with the Program Management Department supports digital initiatives such as automation, AI, and data analytics to enhance customer experience and operational efficiency.
Team and performance management
  • Build and lead an IT team, ensuring they have the skills and tools needed to succeed.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
  • Set clear performance expectations, establish key metrics, and regularly evaluate team performance to ensure high levels of productivity and efficiency.
Stakeholder & IT Project Management
  • Drive IT projects, ensuring that all initiatives are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Collaborate with other departments to assess IT needs and implement solutions that enhance operational efficiency and support business growth.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers, ensuring that all contracted services meet performance and quality standards.
Core System Management
  • Participate in forming and executing the strategy for insourcing the support activities of the core insurance system.
  • Oversee the maintenance and support activities of the core insurance system performed by external vendors (on application and database level).
  • Supports the Director of Program Management Department in oversee the development and enhancement activities of the core insurance system.
  • Manage vendors relationship.
Business Continuity & Risk Management
  • Supports the development of disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure uninterrupted operations.
  • Assess and mitigate IT-related risks.


SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
 
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or other relevant IT specialty.
  • 10+ years of professional experience in IT operations, including experience of at least 3+ years at a managerial level.
  • Hands-on experience with IT infrastructure, including networking, enterprise firewall management, Windows Servers, and Active Directory, as well as system and application administration.
  • Knowledge in the field of relational databases (MySQL)
  • Demonstrated ability to set and achieve performance goals, utilizing metrics and data analysis to drive improvements.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a high-pressure environment, with a flexible approach to working hours to meet the demands of a highly regulated financial institution.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and act decisively.
  • Excellent team, communication, and collaboration skills (Collaborative and team-oriented approach is a must)
  • Skills in team organization, management and delegation, as well as communication with various stakeholders.
  • Excellent command of the English language
