About the Role
Join us as an Infrastructure Engineer, and you’ll be part of a team that builds and runs the platform powering Man Group's hedge funds. You’ll have the tools, support, and autonomy to succeed, along with the opportunity to shape the future of our technology estate.
We are looking for the right person to join our Platform Engineering team to take ownership of our systems and deliver cutting-edge solutions. Initially, your focus will be on areas such as Active Directory, Azure/AWS, Ansible, Windows Servers. However you will also have the opportunity to work across all aspects of our infrastructure. You’ll tackle impactful projects, receive formal training, gain mentorship from senior leaders, and develop a thorough understanding of our business.

Responsibilities
• Designing, implementing, and optimising our infrastructure estate, including Active Directory, Windows Servers, and automation tools like Ansible and Terraform.
• Writing software to automate infrastructure and creating flexible self-service technology for thousands of users across Man Group.
• Managing and maintaining reliable systems across our global data centres, ensuring seamless operations for the business.
• Building and managing infrastructure both on-premises and in the cloud,
• Built scripts and tooling using PowerShell or Python
• Leading and delivering complex projects with minimal supervision, working closely with business stakeholders in a dynamic environment.
• Operating at scale, managing petabyte-scale storage and large CPU and GPU deployments.
• Contributing to the ongoing development of configuration management and automation practices across the firm

Required Skills You should ideally have experience with the following:
 
• Expertise working with Active Directory and Windows Server environments.
• Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Ansible or Terraform (or similar tools like Chef, Puppet, or Salt).
• Experience in managing and maintaining complex infrastructure estates.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and a proactive, self-starter mindset to take ownership of projects and deliver results with minimal supervision.

Desirable Skills
• Understanding of source control and CI/CD workflows with tools like Git.
• Experience administering operating systems such as Linux & Windows, and familiarity with cloud technologies.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Self-organised with the ability to prioritise and effectively manage time across multiple projects.
• A desire to learn and understand more about the business environment in which you work.
