About the role
• Title: Senior Software Engineer (BE)
• Function: Engineering
• Reporting: Head of Engineering
• Location: Bulgaria
What you’ll do
• Design, document, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable services
• Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications • Identify bottlenecks and defects and devise solutions to these problems
• Translate application User Stories and use-cases into functional applications
• Maintain code quality, organization, and automation
Required Skills and Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience as a Backend Engineer (Java)
• Strong understanding of Java Core (JDK 17 or above), OOP, and Design Patterns • Experience developing microservices using Quarkus, Spring, or Akka with gRPC • Knowledge of message queues such as Kafka, NATS.io
• Experience with popular search engine frameworks like Elasticsearch, SOLR
• Strong SQL/NoSQL database skills with a focus on performance optimization
• Experience with Non-Blocking IO and Asynchronous Processing
• Familiarity with Agile development processes
• Strong English communication and documentation skills
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
• Experience with Kubernetes (big plus)
• Testing expertise in TDD/BDD (big plus)
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP
• BS in Information Management Systems, Information Security, Computer Science, or related disciplines
