Director of Engineering
Sofia, SofiaWe are seeking an experienced Director of Engineering to join our global engineering organization. Reporting directly to the Head of Engineering, this role will serve as a right-hand partner, driving engineering excellence and process optimization across our organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Partner with the Head of Engineering to define, refine, and improve development standards, practices, and tool chains Foster cross-functional collaboration across globally distributed teams
Lead continuous improvement initiatives to remove friction in engineering workflows while ensuring quality, security, and compliance requirements are met
Foster a culture of innovation, encouraging the team to explore new tools and technologies that drive efficiency
Establish and maintain engineering metrics to measure and improve performance
Participate in recruitment and development of engineering talent
Contribute to budget planning for engineering tooling, infrastructure, and team expansion costs
Requirements:
Strong technical background with BSc in Computer Science or related field, including software architecture, algorithms and infrastructure
Proven experience managing engineering teams of 40+ people
Experience with Continuous Integration/Deployment practices
Familiarity with Cloud Service Providers (Azure, AWS, GCP)
Understanding of security practices (SAST, DAST) and compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR)
Data-driven approach to problem-solving and decision-making, you use a rigorous, data-centric methodology to validate hypotheses and illustrate concepts
Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships with various stakeholders
