RingCentral is seeking an Automation QA Engineer to join our team and help ensure the highest quality for our web-based and mobile applications. In this role, you will contribute to supporting and enhancing our existing automation framework, creating new test cases, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve the overall QA strategy. You will work closely with backend, frontend, DevOps, and release management teams to ensure smooth software delivery, with a strong focus on CI/CD processes to enable reliable and efficient software releases.
This role requires on-site presence at our office 4 days a week to support effective collaboration and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborative Team Support: Work with the QA team to meet clear objectives and ensure that team members have the necessary resources and support to achieve goals.
CI Team Coordination: Assist in managing tasks within the team, focusing on quality-driven development and seamless collaboration.
Automation Framework Support & Optimization: Contribute to maintaining and optimizing the automation framework, developing new strategies to improve the performance of UI E2E tests.
Test Case Management: Create and maintain test cases using in-house tools, ensuring they align with product specifications.
Automated Test Development: Design, develop, and maintain automated test cases based on product specifications, helping foster a quality-first development culture and promoting test automation.
Code Reviews: Participate in code reviews, providing feedback on code quality and testing practices.
Problem-Solving & Troubleshooting: Assist in analyzing, troubleshooting, and resolving technical issues across systems, collaborating with backend, frontend, and DevOps teams to address bottlenecks and bugs.
CI/CD Integration: Work with cross-functional teams to integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline, using Kubernetes and ensuring smooth release processes.
Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with frontend, backend, DevOps, and release management teams to clarify requirements, resolve bugs, and ensure timely feature releases.
QA Strategy Contribution: Actively participate in refining and improving the company’s QA processes and contribute to the test strategy.
Defect Management: Record, track, and ensure timely resolution of defects using Jira, collaborating with developers to understand root causes.
Release Collaboration: Work with DevOps and release management teams to identify and resolve potential release blockers.
Qualifications:
2-4 years of experience as an automation tester for complex web applications, working with technologies such as Java, JavaScript, Node.js, Selenium WebDriver, and Playwright.
2 years of experience in manual and automated API testing (REST, WebSocket).
2 years of experience with Postman or similar API testing tools.
2-4 years of experience with mobile test automation tools, such: Appium, XCTest.
Familiarity with QA strategies, methodologies, and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Hands-on experience with automation frameworks and tools for web, desktop, mobile applications, and APIs.
Understanding of software testing best practices, with attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to share ideas and work efficiently with management and engineering teams.
Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive attitude.
Ability to take ownership of tasks and meet targets with minimal supervision.
Experience working in fast-paced environments with distributed teams across different time zones.
